If such dirty oil is sent directly to the surface of the moving parts, the mechanical impurities in the oil will become abrasives, which will accelerate the wear of the parts, and cause blockage of the oil passages and cementation of parts such as piston rings and valves. Therefore, it is necessary to have an oil filter in the lubrication system, so that the circulating oil can be purified before being sent to the surface of the moving parts. Ensure good lubrication of the friction surface and prolong its service life.
In the engine lubrication system, there are generally three types of filters. The first is the oil filter, which is installed before the oil pump to prevent large particles of impurities from entering the oil pump, and can also prevent the early wear of the oil pump; the second is the oil filter, which is used to filter out large particles in the oil ( Impurities with a diameter of 0.05-0.1mm or more, which have less resistance to the flow of oil, are generally connected in series between the oil pump and the main oil passage, and belong to a full-flow filter. The machine filter we generally replace refers to this kind of oil coarse filter; the third kind is the oil fine filter, which is used to remove fine impurities with a diameter of more than 0.001mm. Do more component flow, that is, in parallel with the main oil channel, only a small amount of oil flows through the fine filter. It is generally only equipped on large diesel engines, not on cars, and most of them use centrifugal filter type.
